분사구문 만드는 방법

When he saw me, he ran away.

→ Seeing me, he ran away.

1. 접속사를 생략한다.


2. 부사절의 주어가 주절의 주어와 같으면 생략한다.(주어가 다르면 분사 앞에 써 준다.)


3. 부사절의 동사를 현재분사로 바꾼다. 시제가 같으면 '동사원형+~ing', 부사절의 시제가 주절의 시제보다 앞서면 'having+p.p'로 한다.


4. 부사절의 be동사 뒤에 분사, 명사, 형용사가 나올 때, 분사 구문의 Being, Having been은 생략이 가능.
   • While I was walking across the street, I saw my old friend.
   → (Being) Walking across the street, I saw my old friend.
   • If I had been more active, he would have more friends.
   → (Having been) More active, he would have more friends.
   • When he was compared with his father, he was not so intelligent.
   → (Being) Compared with his father, he was not so intelligent.
