영어로 글을 쓴다는 것에 어려움을 느끼는 사람이 많다. 한국에 살면 한국어를 중심으로 쓰기 때문에 영어로 글을 쓴다는 것은 생소하고 어렵다. 그러나 12년의 영어교육을 받은 사람이라면 영어로 글쓰기가 어려운 도전은 아니다. 왜냐하면 영어의 문장이 어떻게 만들어진다는 것을 기본적으로 알고 있기 때문이다.

상고대란? About Sanggodae (Rime)

위의 사진은 '육지 안의 바다'라고 불리는 강원도 화천의 파로호에서 촬영한 상고대이다. 겨울철 기온이 떨어지면서 호수 표면의 수증기가 급속히 냉각되어 나무 위에 눈꽃처럼 피어난 상태를 상고대(Sanggodae = Rime)라고 부른다. 한국에서 가장 아름다운 상고대를 소개한다면 바로 이곳 화천의 파로호 상고대를 최고로 꼽고 싶다.
The photo above shows Sanggodae taken at Paroho Lake in Hwacheon, Gangwon-do, called "Sea in the Land." As the temperature drops in winter, the water vapor on the surface of the lake cools rapidly and blooms like a snowflake on the tree is called Sanggodae = Rime. If I were to introduce the most beautiful Sanggodae in Korea, I would like to pick Paroho Sanggodae in Hwacheon as the best place.
